THE FLOCCULATION PUMP
It is very difficult to
filter in the correct manner water
containing such particles as colloids or
very fine silt. So as to obtain a
purified water it is necessary to inject
a coagulant, which we call "floc". It is
an alumina sulphate based liquid which
allows the fine particles over the
filtering mass to cluster together, thus
retaining them more easily so that they
do not cross this mass nor clog it up.
It is then easier to get rid of these
clustered particles when washing the
filter. A very small quantity of floc is
poured into the in-coming water circuit,
between the feeding pump (6) and the
decanting rack (8) or directly to the
filter entrance (1) as per plan C.
The dosing device sucks the floc from
the G box and injects it into the
in-coming water circuit. The quantity of
floc is adjusted according to how cloudy
the water is (a few drops per M3) |
